2025.11.0416:35:33UTC+00DAX Ends at Over 2-Week Low

On Tuesday, Germany's DAX index fell approximately 0.8% to settle at 23,946, marking its lowest point since October 17th. This decline came as a reversal of the optimistic market sentiment seen earlier in the week. The trading day was dominated by profit-taking amid ongoing market uncertainty, partly due to the US government shutdown, which has interrupted the release of key economic data. Additionally, divergent opinions from Federal Reserve officials regarding interest rates further contributed to the uncertainty. Investors also began to question the longevity of the recent AI-driven market rally while evaluating a new wave of corporate earnings. Fresenius Medical Care was the steepest decliner, dropping nearly 10%, despite delivering unexpectedly strong third-quarter results. This decline was attributed to investor concerns about a possible share placement by its major shareholder, Fresenius SE. Other significant losers included Adidas, Zalando, BASF, and Rheinmetall, each declining more than 2.5%. Conversely, Beiersdorf and Commerzbank emerged as the top gainers, both rising by 1.5%.
