India's BSE Sensex experienced a decline of approximately 0.6%, closing at 83,459.2 on Tuesday, marking its lowest point since October 14, as the market adjusts following a significant rally earlier in October. Investor sentiment was negatively impacted by mixed corporate earnings, ongoing foreign fund withdrawals, and uncertainty surrounding the US-India trade discussions. India's Trade Minister, Piyush Goyal, stated last month that the nation is not keen on accepting trade restrictions or hastily forming agreements, although he mentioned an agreement with Washington is "very near." The IT sector underperformed, dropping 1.1% due to ambiguous statements from US Federal Reserve officials, which cast doubt on the likelihood of a rate cut in December. Conversely, Titan Company saw a 2.1% increase, reaching a one-year high following unexpectedly strong earnings for the September quarter. Similarly, Bharti Airtel achieved a 1.7% rise to a record high, driven by a significant profit surge. Mahindra & Mahindra posted a 0.9% gain attributed to strong SUV sales, and State Bank of India recorded a 0.8% increase following positive financial results.
