In August 2025, the annual inflation rate in Albania decreased to 2.3%, down from 2.5% in July. This reduction was largely attributed to a slowdown in the price growth of several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages experienced a growth of 2.5%, a decline from July's 3.2%; alcoholic beverages and tobacco saw a growth of 3.3%, slightly down from 3.4% the previous month; clothing and footwear rose by 0.6% compared to July's 0.9%; communication costs increased by 1.2%, down from 1.5%; and recreation and culture saw a 6.3% rise, a drop from July's 7.7%. Conversely, there was a price rebound in the transport sector, which increased by 0.5% after a decline of 0.4% in July. Meanwhile, the costs for housing and utilities (rising from 3.0% to 3.1%) and hotels, coffee-houses, and restaurants (up from 2.0% to 2.2%) accelerated. On a monthly comparison, consumer prices increased by 0.3% in August, overturning the 0.1% decrease recorded in July.
