Under the comparison methodology, the “Actual” reading reflects the change between February and January 2026, while the “Previous” reading captured the change between January 2026 and the prior month.

While the trade balance remains in deficit, the smaller shortfall in February suggests some easing of external pressures relative to the start of the year.
